We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that children receive effective support, protection and justice.
Equality of Opportunity Policy

Equality of Opportunity

We will ensure that Kings Road is fully inclusive in meeting the needs of all children. We recognise that children and their families come from diverse backgrounds. All families have needs and values that arise from their social and economic, ethnic and cultural or religious backgrounds.
Partnership with Parents Policy

Partnership with Parents

The Kings Road Nursery recognises that parents are children's first, most important and enduring educators. We seek to work in partnership with parents during the child's most formative years so as to have the maximum possible impact on their development and learning. Any successful partnership needs to have a two-way exchange of information, knowledge and expertise. We seek to create a harmonious, comfortable environment where parents feel welcome and nursery staff are conscientious and motivated.

We believe children and parents are entitled to expect courtesy and prompt attention given to their needs and wishes. It is our intention to work in partnership with parents and the community generally and we welcome suggestions on our nursery.  We value parental partnership and your views, as this is important to us at The Kings Road Nursery.

Fundamental Prevent and British Values Policy

Fundamental British Values

Extremism is defined as the holding of extreme political or religious views. It is a vocal or active opposition to fundamental British Values, including democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and the tolerance of different faiths and beliefs. Radicalisation is the process by which people come to support terrorism, violent extremism, and in some cases, to the participate in terrorist groups, which can mean leaving their country to pursue this. There has been a shift from Islamic concerns, more to Far-right extremism locally and the biggest threat is ‘Online Radicalisation’.
EYFS

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)

We believe that it is important to value all babies and children as competent learners from birth All children have, from birth, a need to develop; therefore we recognise their individuality, efforts and achievements. Relationships with adults and children are crucial in a child's life and a relationship with a key person is essential. Children learn best through play, interaction with people and active exploration of the world around them.
Disease & Illness Policy

Disease & Illness

In order to clarify the situation regarding your child’s attendance at the Nursery during and following an infectious illness, please find attached a list of the recommended minimum periods of exclusion.
